Peck, peck, peck, they’re pecking the grassy fields Whilst the sun rises nigh into morning What the girl does not provide, nature yields Still, they listen for a rooster’s warning She quietly pounces for the fat tick Another goes for the sleepy beetle The bugs are but dumb, to the chickens quick The lowly hen, just as grand as the eagle Glistening feathers of deep red and green And a mane of shining jewels upon gilt A strong strut to add to him, eyes a’glean With pride and arrogance never to wilt The rooster carries his earned swagger And proudly approaches the grazing hen Performs a dance alike to a stagger Alas, the fel

 Soft feet touched the flower, gathering the bright yellow pollen from the delicate stamens. Gently, the worker packed the pollen onto her legs. Alas, she could carry no more. With her intricate wings, she lifted off, quietly buzzing to the hive. She flew through the towering trees, keeping an eye out for any more of the pink blossoms for later. But she dare not fly too close to the ground, as the perpetual fog held many a monster, whom would eat any morsel they could find, including her.
